Biography

    Pavlo Khomenko has been working at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports since 2001, teaching the educational components of the professional and practical cycle of training future coaches in the specialities 017 ‘Physical Education and Sports’ and 014 ‘Secondary Education (Physical Education)’, demonstrating deep knowledge and extensive experience in organising physical education classes and sports competitions, with a total work experience of 21 years.

    Since 2014, he has been working as the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of the Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University. In 2014, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences on the topic ‘Theory and Methods of Natural Science Training of Future Specialists in Physical Culture and Sports’, which demonstrates a high level of mastery of his professional field, qualifications and experience.

    He was awarded the University Medal ‘For Personal Significant Contribution to the Development of the University’ (2014), the Diploma of Poltava V.G. Korolenko State Pedagogical University (2006, 2007, 2013), the Diploma of Poltava State Pedagogical University (2013), 2013), Diploma of Poltava City Council (2011), Diploma of Poltava Regional State Administration (2006, 2009), Diploma of Poltava Regional Council (2015), Acknowledgement of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (2016), Diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (2022). Academician of the Ukrainian Technological Academy, Department of Social and Humanitarian Technologies, 12.12.2017 (Diploma of Academician of UTA, series 01, No. 931).

    Editor-in-chief of the category B scientific journal ‘Pedagogical Sciences’, member of the editorial board of the journal ‘Origins of Pedagogical Excellence’ and ‘Ukrainian Professional Education’. On the initiative of P. Khomenko and under his leadership, international and all-Ukrainian scientific and practical conferences are held, in particular, ‘The Role of Physical Culture and Sports in the Formation and Strengthening of the Nation's Gene Pool’.

    He is the author of about 200 scientific and methodological publications, including 2 monographs; 6 textbooks, more than 160 articles, including in professional and foreign journals (4 articles in Scopus, 2 in Web of Science), 1 utility model patent, 10 copyright certificates. He has participated in many scientific conferences in Ukraine and abroad (Poland, Czech Republic, Norway).
