The article examines the life and creative path of the prominent Ukrainian educator, Ioann Maximovich. The study explores the motivating forces that contributed to the development and determined the success of Ioann Maximovich as an educator, spiritual enlightener, preacher, and missionary. His personality, ideas, and approaches are analyzed, with special attention given to the motivating forces that influenced his formation and development as an educator, enlightener, spiritual and public figure. These include his educational environment, mentors, historical events of that time, and more. The article helps to better understand the motivating forces that influenced the formation of Ioann Maximovich as a prominent figure in the national history
